A Support Garden Helps Your Little One Excel Academically
Every week your child spends one hour in the support garden to improve focus, engagement, communication, and social interactions. This program gives your little one additional support with reaching their goals and succeeding academically. Here’s how it works:
- The support garden provides a quiet, visual work environment away from distractions and high-traffic areas to encourage focus.
- Your little gardener works with either a peer or Marcus, the onsite horticulturalist, who models positive social interactions & assists with building communication skills.
-
Breaks give your little one the opportunity for
sensory input. - Your child engages in a visual schedule & social stories to help them understand & prepare for their gardening responsibilities.
- Marcus gives them individualized instruction & support as he monitors their progress, makes necessary adjustments, & observes and documents their engagement, communication level, & social interactions during gardening activities.
-
Your child loves this fun learning experience while Marcus regularly reviews their progress and ensures the support garden helps your kiddo meet their needs &
reach their goals.
